AirCare Certification
Repair Shops
AirCare certification signifies that your shop is among the best at performing effective emissions repairs. As such, AirCare Certified Repair Centres are listed along with their success rates in a brochure handed out to every motorist whose vehicle has failed its AirCare inspection. The repair centre listings [external link] are also available on the AirCare website.
Shops wanting to become certified by the BC AirCare Program as an AirCare Certified Repair Centre must meet certain minimum requirements. For details, download the application package.

Repair Technicians
Technicians can become AirCare certified by passing a written examination administered by the Automotive Training Standards Association [external link]. The Automotive Training Standards Association is the provincial government agency with responsibility for apprenticeships and industry training programs in B.C.
Technicians preparing for the written exam may be interested to look at a sample exam to get an idea of the exam question format.
